Curran J. Skinner is a tenacious and compassionate family lawyer who is just as comfortable in the courtroom as she is dissecting the intricacies of a case behind the scenes. The mother of two is passionate about protecting the safety and best interests of children and a fearless negotiator, who is highly skilled at handling complex property settlements.
According to Justin Sisemore, founder of the Sisemore Law Firm, “Curran is very creative and consistently thinks outside the box when negotiating settlements for her clients. While she is confident and level-headed in the courtroom, Curran is also a great listener who demonstrates a strong sense of compassion for her clients.”
A long-time resident of Fort Worth, Curran received her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Texas Christian University in 2001. Following graduation, she attended Texas Wesleyan University School of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctorate in 2004. Curran was admitted to the Texas Bar in 2004. She is licensed to practice law in both Texas and Georgia.
Prior to joining the Sisemore Law Firm in 2019, Curran practiced law at a number of esteemed Texas family law firms, including her own. For personal reasons, Curran moved to Georgia and stepped away from family law for a brief period. Eventually, her love for family law and desire to help people successfully navigate one of the toughest times of their lives—the breakdown of a marriage and family—drew Curran back home to Fort Worth.
As Curran explains, “I realized that as a family law attorney, I am able to help some really good people make it through what is a very difficult period. That desire to help people drew me back to family law. As a mother, I’m also very sensitive to people’s emotions when it comes to their children. I know they just need the right tools to help their kids get through this time in a healthy fashion, and that’s something I know I can provide.”
When she isn’t practicing law, Curran enjoys spending time with her husband and children, “I love hanging out with my family. They are my number ones!” Curran also loves playing poker, though her busy attorney-mom schedule doesn’t leave much time for poker these days. “Poker is a game of perseverance, similar to what I do as a family law attorney. Some day I’ll take it up again,” Curran says.
