Client Testimonials

  • Curran handled my divorce better than I could have ever asked for. For anyone that has ever gone through a divorce, you know that it can be the most stressful and angry time in one’s life. By the time I hired Curran my ex-wife had drained our bank account and racked up a mountain of credit card debt. Let’s just say when I sat down with Curran the first time to see if I wanted to hire her I was pretty angry. Curran could tell that I was on edge, to say the least. But after talking with her and listening to her game plan I started to feel a little better. She told me not to worry; that she would handle everything. Curran not only handled everything she played it like a professional poker player. Every move my ex and her attorney made she was one play ahead of them. It’s was amazing!! Curran always kept me in the loop before she did anything and always let me know what to fight for and what not to fight for. By the end of the divorce Curran not only got me everything I asked for she also made sure my ex kept all the credit card debt and got me some money back. If you ever happen to have to go through a divorce, which I don’t wish upon my worst enemy, Curran is your attorney. She will fight tooth and nail for you and she will win!!

    "A Blessing"
  • I consulted Ms. Skinner about a specific legal issue I found myself involved in and was unable to find the answers I needed online. Not only did she counsel me in detail but she also helped facilitate other sources and references I needed for my case. It was obvious to me that she really cared about my needs. She was honest and firm with her advice while still respectful of my decisions. She was great. Helped me a lot in my time of need.

    "Fantastic!"
  • Curran represented me during one of the most tumultuous periods of my life, and I cannot emphasize enough what an incredible support system she was, both in the courts and out. She was professional, prompt, and passionate, all while maintaining a level of sensitivity for the situation. She helped me receive the best possible outcome for my situation and was always willing to go above and beyond to ease any anxiety and ensure my comfort and satisfaction. She earned my trust from the beginning and has since been referred by myself to several friends, who all have been equally happy with the level of service they received.

    "Fantastic"
  • No one can deny the stress endured in a divorce situation. But with Curran, I knew that I didn’t need to worry about the things my foggy brain couldn’t deal with. She was incredibly thorough yet prompt and organized. She thought of the little things that I didn’t that could have had a tremendous impact on my future. She was tough in negotiating while at the same time sensitive to my needs. Can’t stress enough how great she was. I always knew she was on my side and had my back. She’s the best. Highly recommend.

Tenacious, compassionate, determined

Curran J. Skinner is a tenacious and compassionate family lawyer who is just as comfortable in the courtroom as she is dissecting the intricacies of a case behind the scenes. The mother of two is passionate about protecting the safety and best interests of children and a fearless negotiator, who is highly skilled at handling complex property settlements.

According to Justin Sisemore, founder of the Sisemore Law Firm, “Curran is very creative and consistently thinks outside the box when negotiating settlements for her clients. While she is confident and level-headed in the courtroom, Curran is also a great listener who demonstrates a strong sense of compassion for her clients.”

An experienced attorney with Texas roots and a passion for family law

A long-time resident of Fort Worth, Curran received her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Texas Christian University in 2001. Following graduation, she attended Texas Wesleyan University School of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctorate in 2004. Curran was admitted to the Texas Bar in 2004. She is licensed to practice law in both Texas and Georgia.

Prior to joining the Sisemore Law Firm in 2019, Curran practiced law at a number of esteemed Texas family law firms, including her own.  For personal reasons, Curran moved to Georgia and stepped away from family law for a brief period. Eventually, her love for family law and desire to help people successfully navigate one of the toughest times of their lives—the breakdown of a marriage and family—drew Curran back home to Fort Worth.

As Curran explains, “I realized that as a family law attorney, I am able to help some really good people make it through what is a very difficult period. That desire to help people drew me back to family law. As a mother, I’m also very sensitive to people’s emotions when it comes to their children. I know they just need the right tools to help their kids get through this time in a healthy fashion, and that’s something I know I can provide.”

Outside the courtroom, family time is a top priority

When she isn’t practicing law, Curran enjoys spending time with her husband and children, “I love hanging out with my family. They are my number ones!” Curran also loves playing poker, though her busy attorney-mom schedule doesn’t leave much time for poker these days. “Poker is a game of perseverance, similar to what I do as a family law attorney. Some day I’ll take it up again,” Curran says.
